By Davis Joseph (St.Andrew's correspondent)

GRENVILLE, St. Andrew's: Members of a bus association claim that they favor the idea of stickers being obtained through the Traffic Department, and not through the president of their bus association. These ‘stickers’ are placed on the bus and authorizes the driver to ply a particular route.

It is understood, based on the information received from one bus driver, that it is no longer mandatory for bus drivers to obtain stickers through the recommendation of the bus association, but the Traffic Department could now present you with a sticker.

According to a number of bus drivers, it was difficult to obtain a sticker through the bus association if the president does not favor you, therefore, after you pay thousands of dollars for your bus, you still did not know if you would be able to ply the route you choose.

In addition, if you already have a bus, which plies a particular route and decides to purchase another bus, you will have difficulty in obtaining another sticker, something these drivers believe should not happen. This, they claim, is unfair since it does not create a business environment that encourages investment in the bus association.
