GRENVILLE, St.Andrew’s (June 2, 2006): Today, the Guidance and Counseling Officer attached to the St.Andrew’s Anglican Secondary School, Ms. Roxy-Ann Dick, along with the principal, Ms. Joylyn Lyle, and staff, staged what can only be described as a successful ‘Career Day Fair’ at the school.

The fair was organized for the students of Forms 3 and 4 under the theme“ Making wise career choices to meet today’s global demands”. Presenters came from the Ministry of Education, the Royal Grenada Police Force (RGPF), the Media Workers’ Association of Grenada (MWAG), Grenada Food and Nutrition Council, Grenada Board of Tourism and the RBTT Bank.

Each of the presenters was able to provide the students with an insight into the duties that were associated with the various professions that were represented at the fair. They were also given an overview of the prerequisite knowledge and skills required to be effective in each of the different fields. According to principal of SAASS, Ms. Lyle, ‘… it is hoped that this will help guide students in their selection of subjects to write at the CXC Examinations.’

The fair commenced around 9.00 am and ended around 2.00 pm. The participation among students was very good and at the end of the fair, many of them had only positive things to say about the exercise.
