NOTICE TO ALL ROAD USERS/ DRIVERS

Friday June 30th 2006, St. George’s: The Ministry of Communication, Works and Transport in conjunction with the Royal Grenada Police Force wishes to inform the general public that commencing Monday 3rd July 2006, the following traffic changes will be in effect. These are necessary to facilitate roadwork from Tempe to the Botanical Garden’s Round about including Marrast Hill and Lowthers Lane.

1. The road from the Old Coca Cola Plant in Tempe (i.e. up Marrast Hill) to Government House Round about will be used as a one way for light vehicles. Vehicles on this route will be permitted to continue down Lowthers Lane to the Botanical Gardens roundabout.

2. Hyde Park- The road from Government House Round about (Upper Lucas Street) to its intersection with Archibald Avenue will be used as one-way for vehicles going south (light vehicles only).

3. The Archibald Avenue intersection with Lowthers Lane to the Botanical Gardens Round about will be used as two-way traffic for both north and south bound vehicles.

4. Woolwich road will be one-way for vehicles coming out of Archibald Avenue onto Lucas Street. Traffic from Lucas Street will move up to Government House Round about and travel down through Hyde Park onto Archibald Avenue if they wish to proceed to either to Tanteen or into Town.

5. Mottley Hill will be used as one-way for traffic heading to Mt. Gay and River Road from Sans Souci.

6. Two-way traffic will be allowed on Lowthers Lane for heavy and emergency vehicles only. However delays must be expected.

In order to avoid major delays, the motoring public is encouraged to use alternative routes such as White Gun, Richmond Hill, Morne Jaloux to the Cliff, Springs and Woodlands Roads.

The general public is encouraged to avoid parking vehicles along the roads.

Please utilize driveways and by-roads as much as possible.

The Ministry of Communication, Works and Transport apologizes for any inconvenience caused and wishes to notify the general public that this measure will be in place until further notice.
