SEPTEMBER 22, 2006 - Several District Coordinators of the National Disaster Management Agency (NaDMA) have been helping a visiting Mission distribute clothes, food and medicine freely to hundred of Grenadians across the country.

The Coordinators have been volunteering their time to the New York based organization, which has been focusing on distributing items to the poor and needy.

“It is felt that sometimes when we have those sorts of clinics the focus is mostly in the towns so the persons who really need those sorts of clinics are not able to access the facilities because of the location” said Miss Leera Gooding, a member of the local organizing committee.

NaDMA would like to congratulate its coordinators in the field for their spirit of volunteerism in supporting the mission.

Hundreds of Grenadians have been lining up for free food, clothes and medicine.

About 80 health professionals, from dentists to surgeons are providing a free service to whoever turns up for assistance.

Grenada and Windward Island Cricket captain, Rawle Lewis, also turned-up at the New Testament Church in Beaulieu to assist the volunteers distribute food.
