Queens Park Rangers on the verge of capturing championship

ST. GEORGE’S, Grenada - With less than three weeks before the end of the GFA DIGICEL Premier League, the heat turns on in Sunset Parish this Saturday. Home team Carib Hurricane will be awaiting the arrival of former former Champions and current front runners, Queen's Park Rangers in a much anticipated encounter.


QPR is holding unto the lead but by a mere two points adrift from Carib Hurricane but a victory for Rangers would crown them Champions. On the other hand Hurricane playing at home in what may be the biggest crowd at any game this year, must fancy their chances of having the advantage of the home crowd. But news coming from River Road is that they believe this is their time and they have already chartered over five buses to take their fans to the match.

Both teams can boast of a number of national players in their in their lineup. The likes of Patrick Modeste, Desmond Noel, Stephon Hood from QPR and Cassim Langaigne, Nickel Paul, Ron Richardson from Carib Hurricane will certainly be a factor in the performance of both teams.

The other game on Saturday will feature Springs and Police at Queens Park. Springs will consider the match of optimum importance as they are now at the bottom of the standings facing a possible relegation to the First Division. Police on the other hand may be considered as Rainstorm: away from relegation and also away from the top three spots.

Then on Sunday, the crucial encounter between Fontenoy United and D’Sports Shop Morne Jaloux will be played at Queens Park. Both Teams needing a victory to avoid possible relegation or play off encounters. Big Parish fans will welcome former champions Glenelg GBSS as they take on last years champions ASOMS Paradise at Victoria Park. When the two teams met in the first round, the game ended in a tie.

The other match is between Dano Eagles Super Strikers and 3rd Place Hard Rock at Plains.
