ST. GEORGE’S, Grenada - The Goalkeeping Clinic organized by First Touch Soccer Academy in collaboration the St. George's Branch of the Grenada Union of Teachers was deemed a success. The two (2) day Clinic which ran from the October 10-11, 2006 at the Tempe Playing Field was geared at bringing an awareness and developing an attitude towards Goalkeeping among youngsters in the Primary Schools.
On Friday last, participants were presented with their certificates which highlighted the main areas of training:
- Ball handling - Moving into line - Advancing and Diving and - Shot stopping
The Course was conducted by National Goalkeeping Coach Kellon Baptitse. It is the hope that coming from the Course, the establishment of a Goalkeeping Academy which can further the development of the young Goalkeepers.
The Goalkeepers will not have to wait for too long to be in action as the St. George's Primary School Football Competition commenced also on Friday.
