ST. ANDREW’S, Grenada - The Westerhall Secondary School (WSS) was host to the St. Andrew’s Anglican Secondary School (SAASS) at Belle Vue Playing Field, St. David’s on Monday October 16. The two schools met each other as scheduled in the Republic Bank sponsored Inter-secondary Schools Football Competition.
Both junior and senior teams were in action. The junior teams from both schools played first and the boys from SAASS emerged victorious, defeating WSS 7-0. The goal scorers for SAASS were Aldon Rogers (4 goals), Kelly Charles (2) and Donley George (1). The senior game yielded the same result as the first – SAASS again won 7-0. The goal scorers for the senior team were Marvin Augustine (2), Quinton Rennie (1), Clive Murray (3) and Kentel Charles (1).
So far, SAASS is undefeated in their zone while the St. Mark’s Secondary School (last year’s Republic Cup winner) has lost one of their games to Mc Donald’s College (MDC). The boys from MDC are also been undefeated in their zone.
