GRENADIAN born Arkenson Neckles is proven to be a valuable asset to Marshalltown Community College. Neckles, who played for the Queens Park Rangers Football Club back here in Grenada, was named the Conference Player of the Week.
He propelled Marshalltown Community College to two victories in both of their Conference matches despite the fact that they had five (5) of their regular starters out of the lineup.
Neckles scored a goal in the 2-0 hard fought victory over Dakota County Technical College in their first game of the week. Then he displayed a dominating performance against Northern Iowa Area Community College Trojans scoring five (5) goals to tally his team’s 9-0 hammering of the NIACC Trojans.
When asked how he felt about his local club Queens Park Rangers and their chances of winning the DIGICEL Premier League a jubilant Neckles said. “ I am happy that they have a good chance of winning, it was my dream to be with them all the way through but I know they can deliver even without the likes of Curry (Ricky Charles), Nixon, Alister and myself. It’s good for the community for I know they would support the team all the way.”
A win for QPR on Saturday against Carib Hurricane will earn them the most coveted prize in local football: Champions of the DIGICEL Premier League.
