GRENADIAN POLICEMEN are currently questioning a 21-year old young man, Hamandi Lewis, from Boca in St. George’s, in connection with the stabbing death of Randy Isaac in the Snug Corner area on Wednesday October 25, 2006.

Randy Isaac, a 19-year old resident of Woodlands, St. George’s was pronounced dead at the General Hospital after receiving stab wounds to his back. It is believed that Randy was in the Snug Corner area of Boca after attending a church fair that was held at the Beaulieu R. C. Church. Sometime before midnight, he would have gotten into a verbal confrontation with 21-year old Hamandi Lewis which turned physical, resulting in a scuffle. It is then that Hamandi Lewis allegedly inflicted the stab wounds to Randy which is believed to have caused his death.

This senseless murder is causing immense sorrow and anguish to the family and friends of both the victim and the alleged perpetrator of this crime. Randy’s mother described her son as being a very cool person, who tries his utmost to stay away from confrontations and conflicts. Sometime ago, she would have lost her husband (as a result of Hurricane Ivan) and now that her son has been murdered, life for her emotionally painful and is somewhat surreal.

Grenadian Connection (GC) wishes to extend its deepest condolences to the family and friends of the recently deceased Randy Isaac. Also, GC wishes to make a general appeal to parents, guardians, community and church leaders to focus more of their attention and efforts on dealing with many of the social issues that plague our communities, one of which happens to be the apparent inability of young people to amicably resolve conflicts.
