ST. GEORGE’S, Grenada – The inaugural Media Awards Ceremony, scheduled to take place on Saturday December 02, 2006, is reportedly generating quite a lot of corporate interest here in the Spice Isle.
On Friday of this week, the Media Workers’ Association of Grenada (MWAG) received conformation from some corporate entities, expressing a willingness to provide sponsorship for this gala event.
Cable and Wireless (Grenada) Ltd. and Fedex are already on board and were involved in arranging for the official submission of entries earlier on this week. In addition, the Grenada Electricity Company Limited (GRENLEC) and Coyaba Beach Resorts have announced their support for the Awards Ceremony.
MWAG has reported receipt of more than 50 entries for the awards. These entries will be judged by a regional panel of experienced journalists.A winner will be selected in each of the different categories covering all aspects of news reporting.
At the Awards ceremony on December 2, distinguished pioneers of media work in Grenada will also be recognized and honored.
