ST.GEORGE’S, Grenada - The GFA Open Knock Out has reached the Quarter Final Stage. The final three (3) teams qualified yesterday by the narrowest of margins.
Trade Centre Honved edged past Carenage 1-0 at Queens Park.
Scores were leveled at the end of normal playing time as ASOMS Paradise scrambled to a victory by penalty kicks over Sunjets yesterday at Cuthbert Peters Park.
Likewise, Fontenoy United. Both teams were unable to add to the scorecard and went straight into penalty kicks. Fontenoy United emerged victorious at the Beausejour Playing Field.
Quarterfinals match-ups will start on Friday.
Current Champions in the Premier Division Carib Hurricane and 2nd place In the First Division South Stars will play the first match of the quarter finals on Friday at Queens Park.
Then on Sunday, ASOMS Paradise will clash with Queens Park Rangers at the Victoria Park and at the same time Hard Rock will host Fontenoy United at Plains.
The final match in the quarterfinal, Glenelg Spring Water GBSS will face Trade Centre Honved on Monday at Queens Park.
The Semi finals are carded for Wednesday and the finals the following Friday.
GFA closing award ceremony is scheduled for Saturday December 02, 2006 at the Trade Centre.
