GRENADA – According to reports reaching Grenadianconnection, former national cricket captain and Windward Islands cricket all-rounder, Kenny Hobson, has died.
Mr. Hobson, who was also clerk of parliament, had a burning passion for the game of cricket and has made a sterling contribution towards the development of cricket in Grenada and the Windward Islands. In 2003, he replaced Mr. Walter St. John as the President of the Grenada Cricket Association (GCA), a post that he held until his passage to the Great Beyond.
Mr. Hobson, who has been fighting illness over the past few years, will be greatly missed by all Grenadians, especially his family and those who are associated with the game of cricket. He has been a true Grenadian icon and role-model.
Grenadianconnection joins with all family, friends and associates of Mr. Kenny Hobson in mourning his death. Grenada has truly lost a remarkable son of the soil.
