Grenada Customs TIN Usage

CATEGORY:NOTICE
-------------------

From Grenada Customs

EFFECTIVE MONDAY 4th December 2006. The Importer /Exporter & Declarant numbers currently used by traders will no longer be accepted at Grenada
Customs.

Importers/Exporters/Brokers are required to use their TAX IDENTIFICATION NUMBER (TIN), issued by the Inland Revenue Department (IRD), in the
completion of boxes 5 & 7 for import entries and 1 & 7 for export entries.

Non-commercial importers/exporters will continue to be treated as occasional traders and will be assigned the standard TIN 000000 in the
absence of a TIN from the IRD.

This new procedure is being introduced with the re-installation of ASYCUDA as one of the measures required to facilitate the smooth transition to the
re-introduction of VAT slated for September 2007.

Importer/Exporters are asked to contact the IRD at (473) 440-1998 if unsure of their TIN, or seek assistance from Grenada Customs at (473)
440-2239/2240/3588.

Thanking you in advance for your usual compliance and understanding.
