About

 Crochu Pomme Rose Ex-Students Association

The Crochu Pomme Rose Ex-Students Association, New York was formed in January 1993. The purpose of the organization is to enhance the educational quality of our Caribbean students, both here in New York and in the Tri-Island State of Grenada, Carriacou and Petit Martinique. The organization provides financial, technical, and medical assistance to senior citizens, aspiring youth, and families in need, and projects that improve the quality of life.
Our aim is to improve the educational, cultural, social, health and economic status of our nationals in Grenada, and here in the Tri-State Metropolitan area. Our values are honesty, teamwork, professionalism, empathy, and continuous improvement.
Over the past 14 years, the organization has donated abundantly in terms of finances and materials toward various worthy causes. The organization is dedicated to supporting the causes of the youth and senior citizens of Grenada. In so doing, the organization has provided scholarships to under-privileged students and made financial, medical and other donations to the Saint Martin De Porres Home for the Aged in Grenada. In New York, the organization has made numerous donations to our Nationals who seek our help. In addition, the organization is an ardent supporter of other Associations with similar goals.
The organization’s largest project to date is the construction of a Multi-Purpose Community Complex in Grenada. This building is serving the needs of the community and beyond. Today, the center is about 98% complete, and is already serving the needs of the community.
In 2006, we embarked on a new project to construct a retaining wall at the center. A new evening educational program was implemented in September 2006. The program includes English, Math, Principles of Business, Accounting, Business Management and other Courses. A new state of the art Computer Learning Center will be implemented in March 2007. We have also instituted an internet Café which should be operational by June, 2007. Other programs already in place or soon to be implemented are the Library which is fully operational and a Youth Center is also fully operational.
