Brother Paul: I am deeply sorry for your loss. I offer this with no intent to patronize, but prayers and time lessen the pain of remembering. Many times over the years I though of the exemplary couple you guys are. Your example became increasingly more potent and relevant, as living in today's world deteriorates. Thank you Brother Paul for all the support you provided when we were teenagers. God be with you. Sharon Griffith.

To Paul Finlay and Family, News of Betty’s sudden and short illness, then later death, brought shock to all our family; but in faith, I exclaimed,” Jesus loves her best”, a statement which will support you and me at this difficult time. You have lost a jewel, our gem, and heaven has won a precious soul. I have envisioned “Auntie Betty” as she was affectionately called, among the “Redeemed - washed like the snow and free from all sin”, having crossed over into Canaan’s fair and happy land, following a Sabbath School session of praise and gratitude to the worshipers and to God. What a Glorious Transition! We do not grieve as those without hope. Does Jesus Care? Yes! He cares! While He embraces Auntie Betty safely in His arms, He has promised to provide comfort for our tears and to be a light on our way. Never, will He leave us nor forsake us. God will take care of us. So be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. God is our refuge and strength, and a present help in time of trouble. Let us keep faithful, because only such will we be able to meet Aunty Betty, “when the first trump of God shall sound and she shall rise”. Let us encourage ourselves in the Lord, for soon and very soon we are going to see the King and your lovely wife, with a new name and body without sickness or death. Our beloved Auntie Betty will be in that great reunion in heaven with all our faithful loved ones. As we grieve - a reflection of our love - we will keep you and the family in prayer for comfort and peace, as we go forward. Accept our condolences and sincere regrets. With love and deepest sorrow. I miss her hospitality, her winsome smile and that invitation to come to Grenada. From: Fay Thompson - Queens, N.Y. Peter Thompson - Brooklyn, N.Y. Jacqueline Thompson - Brooklyn, N.Y. To the family and friends of Betty Finlay, my sincere condolences at the passing of such a caring, nurturing, vibrant, and God fearing child of the King. She died as she lived, and that's a consolation. May the memories of who she was in her mortal existence bring joy and peace that will help you cope during these difficult times. God sees the tears and will one day wipe them all away. She will rise again. Be comforted with the fact that God is coming soon, and the dead will rise, including Betty. I hope we will all be at that banquet table with her. May she rest in peace.

I will miss Sister Betty Sanetra Finlay. She was my math teacher at the Seventh Day Adventist School in Archibald avenue where she taught. I last was in her company in July of 2008. She came and picked me up and took me to church in Westerhall and took be back home. She showed concern for me and always gave me good advice on the facts of life. I am glad there is hope of another world and a place in heaven where i can speak with confidence that she will go. I pray for Mr. Paul Finlay.
